Once conserved, every panel was framed in phosphor bronze U channel, and surrounded by a lead "skirt" before fixing internally onto new stonework throughout the building.
Each panel of every window was framed, and held in place by manganese bronze bars which we fabricated on site by hand
Each panel of every window was framed, and held in place by manganese bronze bars which we fabricated on site by hand. The Rose window ferramenta was designed by Rab, Rae Simpson, and Stephen Adamson, problem solving as we went along
All of the stonework surrounding each window was quarried from Caithness specifically for the project. It took almost one year to remove the windows, quarry and install the stone, and finally install the south, completely conserved and framed, stained glass.
